Offer Next Steps to Your Students

At the end of your course, you may want to offer next steps to your students. Here are some examples of next steps to consider. You could offer one or more of the following:

  • A course checklist that provides them with an overview of what was covered in the course. They can use this to make sure they've completed everything.
  • An invitation to participate in a brief survey, where they can share what they enjoyed most about the course, what they wish would have been covered, any questions they have, their plans for putting what they learned into action, a testimonial about the course, etc.

A next step opportunity can also be an invitation to continue on to the next course in a series, or a next level learning opportunity, or a group coaching program.

When developing your next steps, think about what would be most useful to your students and what would help them to make the most of the course they just completed.

If your students enjoy your teaching style and they've learned from you, many will want to continue on. Think about what you'd enjoy having access to, if you were a student completing this course.
