Teachery Create a Course Theme

Hi Guest - If you are viewing this from the theme view versus the theme dashboard, what you'll see is the content your students will see.

To view the tips for using your theme (which are in private draft mode) you need to create a new course and choose this theme from the theme options. You will need to have a free trial or a paid Teachery account in order to create a course and apply this theme.

Once you install this theme to your course, you can remove this message and replace it with your content. In this Getting Started section compose a welcome message to your participants. Provide them with getting started tips and ways to make the most of your program.

Since you can't see any of the tutorials I created for you until you install the theme, here's one of the tutorials. As part of this video you'll learn how to install your theme.

This sidebar is a great place to list resources and provide links to each section of the course. You want to make it easy for students to find things.

The image above is from your editable course graphics templates, which you'll find on the left sidebar of your dashboard for this course.

Step 1: Navigate to Settings tab at the bottom-left of your course dashboard. Go to the Manage Options section to update your course name and URL. This is important to do first, as it will determine the URL for each page of your course.

Step 2: Update your course Emails while it's on your mind. Scroll to the Emails section of your course dashboard. It is a good idea to send out the Welcome Email, so students get a link back to the course. Most importantly, select the email options you'd like and edit the course name and any other text you'd like to add or update. Take care NOT to touch the login or payment codes listed.

Step 3: Decide on the focus for each page of your course. Then update the name and URL for each page, via the Actions tab at the top-right of this page, from the course dashboard.

Step 4: Once you've updated the page name and URL for each page, you could create a navigation section on this sidebar. Type out the name of each lesson/page and hyperlink the text so when people click on it, they are taken to that page.

Get the hyperlink to each page via the Actions tab at the top-right of your course dashboard.
